Tuna & Avocado Rice Bowl

A simple poke-inspired bowl with tuna, avocado and rice. High in protein and healthy fats, ready in minutes.

Tuna & Avocado Rice Bowl

Inspired by the Hawaiian poke bowl, this version keeps things simple and quick. Tuna provides lean protein and omega-3, avocado brings creamy healthy fats, and a base of rice makes it properly filling. With a light soy and sesame dressing, it comes together in minutes and feels fresh and restaurant-worthy. Use sushi-grade tuna for a raw bowl, or tinned tuna for an even faster meal.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving

  • Tuna (sushi-grade or tinned) 120 g / 4.2 oz
  • Rice (cooked) 150 g / 5.3 oz
  • Avocado, sliced 0.5 medium
  • Cucumber, diced 60 g / 2.1 oz
  • Soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds to taste

Method

  1. Add the cooked rice to a bowl as the base.
  2. Top with the tuna, sliced avocado and diced cucumber arranged in sections.
  3. Drizzle with soy sauce and a little sesame oil.
  4. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and serve.

Tips

  • Use sushi-grade tuna only if very fresh; otherwise tinned tuna works perfectly.
  • Add edamame or seaweed for a more authentic poke-style bowl.
  • A dash of sriracha or wasabi adds a pleasant kick.
